Joe has been teaching drums for many years and has developed a practice of helping the student learn on their terms. This is done through traditional methods utilizing various instructional material or just learning your favorite songs; it’s all about keeping it fun and engaging. The process involves assessment, developing the students best way to learn, and then implementing a pragmatic lesson plan that results in achieving each students goals. Although Joe was trained on percussion in a more traditional academic forum, he feels that some of his best education on drum set came from watching drummer’s who influenced his playing, such as Buddy Rich, Peter Erskine, and Steve Gadd just to name a few.
